Christofer is a consultant specialising in local emission inventories and emission forecasting. He has worked with various local authorities to support their Sustainable Energy Action Plans for the Covenant of Mayors, as well as establishing regional emission projections. In 2016 he had a leading role developing the Oxford Sustainability Index comparing and ranking the environmental work in British local authorities according to a range of environmental indicators such as renewable energy, waste management, flood risk management and greenhouse gas emissions.
His work on data visualisation incorporates solutions for private as well as public organisations, including the development of an online data visualisation tool representing trends in greenhouse gas emissions for the Republic of South Africa. More locally, Christofer provides sustainability advice for Oxford University Colleges, evaluating environmental impacts and assisting with the drafting of their sustainability strategies.
He has experience in core literature review through his work for DECC and the Scottish Government investigating co-benefits of climate change mitigation. This research included quantitative and qualitative elements assessing economy and equality impacts of climate change mitigation. Furthermore, Christofer works with the evaluation of transport policies on a local as well as international scale through his work evaluating and updating Transport and Environment indicators for the European Environment Agency. Christofer brings valuable skills from work in several European Countries, working in English, Swedish and Spanish.
Christofer received an MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Policy at University of Oxford, and has previous environmental research experience on the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and international greenhouse gas inventories. Prior to joining Aether, Christofer worked with the Corporate Environmental Management System ISO14001 in Sweden, and performed ad-hoc environmental research for the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, a global network of megacities taking action to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Outside work Christofer enjoys learning new languages and currently studies French and Spanish. When not working or studying, he has a passion for sailing, hiking and second-hand bookshops.
