Chris Dore was interviewed by local TV and radio regarding the closure of Didcot A power station. The coal fired station opted out of the Large Combustion Plant Directive, and as a result was given an allocation of 20,000 operating hours from 2008 onwards.

Aether have been asked to complete an air quality assessment for a proposed development of an energy centre that will run on biomass and use oil as a back up. The project will use the dispersion model AERMOD to assess the resulting ground level nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter concentrations.

Aether has been commissioned to undertake an air quality assessment for a proposed conversion of a 5 storey office block to residential apartments in Waltham Cross. The site lies close to a busy road junction and therefore it is important that the residents' exposure to air quality is assessed.

Barbados workshop

Justin, Chris and Melanie recently returned from Barbados where they gave a 2 day capacity building and technical training workshop on greenhouse gas inventories. This followed on from Aether compiling the 2010 GHG emissions inventory for Barbados, which will form part of their Second National Communication Report.
