Co-benefits

Analysis of the co-benefits of actions to reduce emissions

Aether provides expertise in understanding the full impacts of actions to reduce emissions,  in the wider contexts of economic and social variables.

Increasing stakeholder engagement

Environmental action requires the active engagement and buy-in from a wide range of non-environmental stakeholders. Integrating effective environmental action into economic, social and sustainable development requires more than the simple presentation of actions, their costs and environmental benefits. It requires a broader consideration of the co-benefits and possible compromises of the action with respect to core economic, social and sustainable development goals.

Wider impacts analysis

Aether works to help organisations set their actions, policies and measures in a wider context highlighting interactions with other sectors and strategies. For example, an action to reduce the number of car journeys might see co-benefits of improved health from alternative active modes of transport, improved local air quality, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and reduced traffic congestion. Identification of co-benefits have the potential to greatly increase the engagement of a broad cross section of stakeholders in the successful implementation of policies and measures.
