Kathryn Hampshire, Senior Consultant

Kathryn has experience in emissions inventories and environmental data analysis and specialises in data visualisation. She has broad experience in creating graphical displays of complex data for a range of audiences including technical experts, policy makers, general public and school children. She has also built up her knowledge of the wider impacts of climate action on national strategies and Sustainable Development Goals. Through projects for various national governments, she has gained experience in providing online solutions for MRV systems that allow for the collation and analysis of data and information on institutional arrangements and climate actions.

Kathryn’s recent work has included:

  • Development of the Jersey Government’s greenhouse gas data visualisation. This includes an analysis of the wider impacts of climate actions on national strategies as well as visualisation of emissions data and projections.
  • Creation of an online data visualisation as part of the Air Quality Program for Schools in Surrey that aims to teach children about air quality including monitoring, impacts and possible actions.
  • A literature review and analysis on the wider impacts that can be achieved from climate change actions of Sustainable Development Goals
  • Management of Aether’s involvement in the compilation and QA/QC of the UK Devolved Administration’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory.

Kathryn received an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, where she specialised in global environmental change and policy. During her Masters she undertook research into the energy and climate change policies of the UK following the 2015 general election.

Outside of work, Kathryn can often be found on a tennis court, training or travelling round the country competing. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends and dog walks (with coffee and cake at the end).

Antigua and Barbuda Biennial Update Report (BUR)

Category: National governments, Policies and measures

Aether has been supporting Antigua and Barbuda on their first Biennial Update Report (BUR) by writing the Mitigation chapter. This work will enable Antigua and Barbuda to report transparently on initiatives addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation. Also the climate action database will enable the Department of Environment to take stock of climate related initiatives across the country, including the flow of climate finance, and relate this to national strategies and targets.
