I am experienced in climate research, and enjoy contributing to climate mitigation and adaptation work throughout the public sector.
Lara Clements, Consultant
Since joining Aether, Lara has contributed her knowledge and skills in climate change research, stakeholder engagement, and report writing to support a wide range of projects across the public and private sector. She has contributed to the delivery of the assurance review of the UK National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (NAEI), incorporating her stakeholder engagement and report writing skills to develop a review of the LULUCF sector of the NAEI. She also has experience supporting work in local authorities to develop and report on net zero pathways and mitigation strategies, including assessing NBS opportunities.
In addition to mitigation focused work, Lara has undertaken climate adaptation work, leading a literature review on climate impacts and adaptation for grassroot sports in Scotland. As part of this project, she also supported stakeholder engagement activities and contributed to the development of the final report. Lara has further supported reporting within the development sector, assisting in the production of Energy and Sustainability Statements to help clients understand and respond to relevant policy requirements.

Prior to her work at Aether, Lara was involved in project management, river conservation initiatives and environmental data collection and analysis within the charity sector. Through this experience she developed skills in GIS software and coding, alongside effective communication and partnership working with a range of stakeholder groups. Lara also has an Integrated Master’s degree from Oxford University, with her research focused on “Future climate change in grasslands: exploring the combined effects of warming and precipitation change”.
Outside of work, Lara can be found drinking black coffee and tending to her many house plants.
