I work across multiple projects focused on improving air quality and strengthening climate change reporting globally.

Nina Sidhu, Assistant Consultant

As an Assistant Consultant, Nina has developed strong technical expertise through her involvement in a wide range of projects at Aether. She has supported the compilation and analysis of national and international emission inventories, engaged with various stakeholders, and expanded her understanding of the wider impacts of climate action at both local and national levels. Nina is also a member of the air quality assessments team and supports the coordination and running of the UN/ECE Taskforce on Emissions Inventories and Projections (TFEIP).

Nina has a particular interest in indoor air quality. She recently graduated from the University of York with a Master’s in Chemistry (MChem), specialising in atmospheric chemistry. During her time in York, she designed and optimised experiments to speciate VOCs emitted from consumer aerosol products, evaluating their implications for indoor air quality. In her final year, she investigated VOC emissions and reaction pathways from consumer bleach products, assessing their impacts on human health.

Recent projects include:

  • Reviewing National Emission Ceilings Directive (NECD) reports
  • Assessing the impacts of climate change on grassroots sports in Scotland
  • Characterising and assessing airborne PFAS
  • Updating the 2023 EMEP/EEA guidebook

Outside of work, Nina enjoys watercolour painting and attending concerts. She also plays hockey for her local club and is a passionate Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter.
