Alex is experienced in the design, development and implementation of monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) systems. These systems facilitate the compilation, analysis and reporting of data on climate actions, and support countries with the fulfilment of such UNFCCC reporting obligations as the Biennial Transparency Reports and Nationally Determined Contributions. He has worked with organisations and in-country stakeholders to implement these systems in countries in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.

Alex has also gained experienced in the compilation and QA/QC of air quality and GHG emissions inventories, through his work compiling and, in recent years, quality checking the UK’s Devolved Government’s emissions inventories.

Alex also enjoys working on data visualisation projects, supporting the creation of online and interactive dashboards in Power BI. These dashboards support our customers in increasing engagement in their environmental data.

Projects include:

• Project managing Aether’s work to design, develop and implement a national MRV system for Lesotho to regularly track their GHG inventory reporting cycle, NDC commitments and support their ETF reporting.
• Project managing Aether’s work to design a Power BI dashboard for Isle of Man Government to model business-as-usual and additional measures scenarios for the Isle of Man’s projected GHG emissions up to 2050.
• Annually providing detailed QA/QC checks on the UK’s Devolved Government’s air quality and GHG emissions inventories.

Outside of work, Alex is regularly found at padel courts, and also enjoys a variety of watersports, playing guitar, and watching Formula 1.
