Aether certified carbon neutral for the 6th year running

23 July 2018

Aether has operated as a cetified carbon neutral company since January 2012 and has recently offset its emissions for the 2017 calendar year through Carbon Footprint™.

The Aether carbon footprint covers emissions from work space, flights, commuting and other travel (trains, buses, taxis). The total to offset increased from the previous year to an estimated at 61 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. However, as 2017 saw Aether staff numbers grow from an average of 16 to 20 persons, the per capita emissions actually decreased by 11 %. This is largely due to our efforts to minimise emissions from commuting and travel for work. To learn more about how Aether aims to operate as a sustainable company please read our blog post here.

Following a poll among Aether’s staff, emissions were offset through two certified carbon offsetting schemes: a Borehole Rehabilitation Project in Uganda and an Efficient Cookstove Programme in Kenya.
