Aether Conservation Day

3 May 2016

Aether spent the day volunteering at the Earth Trust’s Little Wittenham nature reserve near Wallingford.

The work involved protecting coppiced trees in Little Wittenham Wood, which involved hammering wooden stakes into the ground and weaving mesh between them. This ensured that regrowth is protected from Deer and can flourish within the woodland.

In addition, in the afternoon we helped to remove felled wood from within the woods and relocated it to their storage for the bale boiler. We also spent some time with ewes and recently born lambs.
