Central Asia Study Tour: Air Quality Workshop

In March, Aether staff provided representatives from Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan) who were visiting the UK on a study tour with an introduction to air quality management.

The workshop was funded by the UK FCDO and Defra. Sessions included an introduction to emission inventories, the use of web portals for managing data, an introduction to dispersion modelling and air quality monitoring and air quality management frameworks. The different countries were at different stages in their developments of air quality management and so prior to the day, a questionnaire was circulated to attendees on their level of understanding and implementation of different aspects so that the sessions could be tailored accordingly.
