Lewisham Council draft Climate Emergency Strategic Action Plan

Lewisham Council has published a draft Climate Emergency Strategic Action Plan which has been supported by analysis from Aether. Our ‘Route to Neutral’ research was designed to support the Action Plan by

• defining and measuring the ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030;

• establishing a baseline for Lewisham; and

• identifying and costing the range of actions that would be required.

Potential reductions in carbon emissions have been estimated by modelling the impacts of actions by the Council and across the Borough. Estimates of costs of the measures have also been made where data were available. Whilst the estimates are still uncertain, they provide important evidence for Lewisham Council to begin to consider the scale of investment as well as the changes in society and technology that are required to meet their ambitious target.
