Our First Year

27 October 2009

We are celebrating our first full year of business with a redesign to our website, providing more detail about our current work and useful links to related technical information and organisations.

Aether has had a very successful first year, making a tremendous start towards our vision for providing excellent innovative consultancy in emissions inventory and data management.  Here are some highlights:

  • We have provided direct policy support to the UK Government through a secondment to the Defra air quality science and evidence team.
  • We have developed the new TrACE tool for Energy Saving Trust to help Local Authorities track progress on reducing community carbon emissions.
  • We also continue to provide expert input to the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory.
  • We continue to be very active at the international level, chairing meetings and representing the UK on numerous occasions. We have also provided emissions inventory expertise to the Turkish Government and have lead international review teams on both air quality emissions and progress towards Kyoto targets.
  • We have established a base at the Milton Park Innovation Centre, in a new building with renewable energy supplies and rainwater harvesting.

So we are looking forward to another stimulating year in which climate change continues to dominate headlines and air quality issues are increasingly important in our cities.
