Project win: Air quality mitigation assessment

8 August 2014

Aether was asked to undertake an air quality mitigation assessment for a proposed secondary school in Worthing. The report followed the Sussex Air Quality Partnership’s air quality and mitigation guidance for Sussex.  The document provides a Sussex wide approach for assessing potential air quality impacts from development and transport related emissions and to provide a consistent approach to mitigating those impacts.

The estimated emissions (nitrogen oxides and particulate matter) are multiplied by damage costs for the key pollutants to provide a monetary value that is expected to be spent on measures to mitigate those impacts.
