Project win: LES

Aether have been asked to complete a low emissions strategy for a proposed development in South Kensington. Recently there has been a move by some Local Authorities away from traditional air quality assessments to requiring low emission strategy assessments to be completed alongside the planning application for a proposed development.

A LES estimates the nitrogen oxide, paticulate matter and GHG emissions that will arise with the proposed development (both from buildings and vehicles) and it compares it to those emissions arising from previous use of the land. Where an increase in emissions is predicted then mitigation options must be suggested.
