Aether’s commuting carbon footprint halved in 2014

We calculate Aether’s carbon footprint annually and we offset the emissions that were not avoided.

Aether’s commuting carbon footprint halved in 2014. Near the end of 2013 we moved our main UK office to the centre of Oxford. This has contributed to a reduction of 56% in the carbon footprint of our staff commuting in 2014 compared to 2013.

We incentivise staff to make sustainable travel choices through our Low Carbon Travel Incentive Scheme. If a member of staff chooses a less convenient mode of transport but that is carbon saving, they will receive a financial incentive to do so. This is calculated by allocating a monetary value to the carbon saving between the chosen mode and the most convenient option.
