Air quality assessment for Sheffield development

Aether have been commissioned to undertake an air quality assessment for a proposed development in Sheffield. The development will comprise of approximately 120 residential apartments, a block of student accommodation and a large amount of retail space.

Sheffield City Council declared an AQMA in 2010 for the annual and hourly mean nitrogen dioxide objective and daily mean particulate matter objective covering the entire eastern part of the city covering the major built up areas and the proposed development site lies within the AQMA. The project will use the dispersion model ADMS-Roads to assess the impact of local road traffic emissions on sensitive receptor locations and provide mitigation advice if appropriate.
