Supporting improvement of EU countries greenhouse gas projections

Aether is working with ICF, IIASA and E4SMA to assist up to ten European Member States in developing and improving their national greenhouse gas emission projections. This work is being undertaken for the European Commission and will be completed over the next 12 months. The project will:

  • Identify specific difficulties encountered by Member States in fulfilling their reporting requirements in a timely, transparent, complete, consistent and comparable manner.
  • Provide capacity building support and technical assistance for Member States to prepare the submissions of their GHG projections in 2017 under the Monitoring Mechanism Regulation.
  • Provide recommendations to Member States in starting to prepare or on how to improve integrated projections on climate and energy.
