Madrid office launched

Aether, the air emissions specialist consultancy, has opened a new office in Madrid. This represents Aether’s first permanent base outside the UK, supporting their growing international business.

Aether ran a workshop during the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) annual conference on compiling and using SEAPs and heat maps. The workshop was attended by members of Scotland’s public bodies and was run to build capacity for planning and monitoring energy and low carbon actions.

Developments in the understanding of emission sources can mean that substantial revisions are made to national emission estimates. This can result in countries exceeding emission ceilings simply because they are better able to make emission estimates.

The UK’s greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory consists of the national GHG emissions presented in the UNFCCC’s Common Reporting Format (CRF), and the National Inventory Report (NIR). The NIR follows a UNFCCC-required structure and details the methods used to calculate the UK’s GHG emissions.
