Assessment of the UK’s National Inventory Report

The UK’s greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory consists of the national GHG emissions presented in the UNFCCC’s Common Reporting Format (CRF), and the National Inventory Report (NIR). The NIR follows a UNFCCC-required structure and details the methods used to calculate the UK’s GHG emissions.

Aether staff have recently returned from the UNECE Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections' (TFEIP) 2013 meeting in Istanbul. The meeting was attended by more than 130 emission inventory experts from Europe and the EECCA countries.

This followed on from Aether compiling the 2010 GHG emissions inventory for Barbados, which will form part of their Second National Communication Report.
